ROSE MARY ENGLISH HIGH SCHOOL" is a unique experiment to use education as a tool of empowerment and social change for the marginalized section of the society residing in the slums.
RMES (GOVT.RECOGNIZED) was established in the year 2000 as an English medium co-education school in the second largest slums of India situated at Malwani, Malad (w), Mumbai. The school opened with only two kachcha rooms and fifty students for the poor children of the locality for whom enrollment in English medium was a distant dream.
Within the span of ten years the school has developed into one of the most reputed school of the area with excellent infrastructure educating nearly 800 children of the slum dwellers imparting quality education at nominal fees.The institution is founded on the firm belief that education is the fundamental right of every child and no child should be deprived of this basic right simply because he/she does not have access to it or does not have the resources to realize his/her dreams. The principal focus of school is to ensure quantum and visible improvement in the enrollment and learning levels of the underprivileged children.
